Comal ISD Librarian Chosen for TALL Texans Class of 2024

July 23, 2024 - A Comal Independent School District librarian was selected for the Texas Accelerated Library Leaders Institute’s (TALL) Texans Leadership Class of 2024 on July 15.

Jillian Pratt, director of digital learning and library services for Comal ISD, has been in education for more than 15 years, serving as a classroom teacher and school librarian in elementary and secondary schools. Most recently, she served as the librarian at Davenport High School.

“I am really excited to be accepted in TALL Texans,” says Pratt, who has master’s degrees in instructional technology and library information science. “I will be collaborating with school, academic and public library personnel from all over Texas. It is important for leaders in these roles to collaborate with each other. I want to bring back the skills learned at TALL Texans to our school librarians so they can lead within their schools and communities.”

Pratt along with 30 participants will study leadership principles and practices, interpersonal communication, ethics, conflict negotiation, organizational change in transforming libraries, mentorship and more during the three-day institute which takes place Nov. 21-23 in Georgetown.

The TALL Texans Leadership Development Institute has provided advanced leadership and management education in service to all the libraries of Texas and the communities they serve for more than 25 years.

Congratulations!
