Comal ISD is hosting an informational recruiting event for local business professionals who may be interested in coaching and mentoring student entrepreneurs.

School spirit was on full display during the August Garden Ridge Market Days' Back-to-School Community Festival and Supply Drive with more than $2,000 in donations and school supplies going to Comal ISD area campuses.

Once more, Comal ISD's visual arts program has earned the District of Distinction Award, placing it among the top 4 percent of districts in the state recognized for their commitment to integrating visual arts into the curriculum and inspiring creativity both in the classroom, the community and beyond.

A Comal ISD educator has earned one of the district's only National Board Certified Teacher Certification. Considered the gold standard in teacher certification, it is the most respected professional certification available in K-12 education.

Every year, teachers and staff members look forward to kicking off the school year with convocation, and while the music and food are great, the student performance is what brings them to their feet. This year's performance was no exception.

The Comal ISD Board of Trustees called for two elections to be held Nov. 2. These two separate elections will address the district's enrollment growth and teacher compensation.

The district's seven middle school campuses competed against each other in 11 academic UIL contests this past spring. When the dust settled, Smithson Valley, Danville and Church Hill came out on top.

When community partners like the Canyon Lake Noon Lions step up to make a difference, students benefit. This time, the beneficiaries are students in Mountain Valley Middle School's essential academics program who are learning ways to become more independent.
